Who We Are

Today, every company is a tech company. Technology is no longer confined to people in IT, and data is an essential part of work for more people than ever. We've seen the impact data can have. Building from a foundation of integrated and organized data sources, thoughtfully-crafted reporting dashboards, and everything in between--our customers can make decisions faster, and more confidently.

By understanding and using their data, we've helped our customers create new revenue streams, enhance their customer satisfaction (and retention), while helping them identify opportunities for cost savings. Magus exists to make these a reality for our customers—whether they have 5 employees, or 5,000+.

What makes Magus different from others? We are deeply committed to our core values, and laser-focused on making data work for you.

Our Core Values

Grit

Before Magus, several members of our team honed their skills working for large consulting firms, only to find that time and time again, our customers and clients needed more than "checking the box" to deliver a requirement. They needed a partner comfortable with ambiguity, with an opinionated perspective on data to reduce the demand on their team, rather than increase it. Deep experience is essential for a project to be successful, but it isn't enough on its own.

Trust

Whether Data is the new Oil (or not), it is something that requires a high degree of trust. Any time you work with someone new, building trust is often the first step--our team demonstrates that through continuous feedback (both good and not so good) amongst ourselves, and with our clients.

Ownership

With many of our projects requiring 2-8 months to complete, we start each one knowing that we're temporary support. Despite that reality, we treat our deliverables as if we were going to own them for the long term—that means we build things the right way (even when there might be a shortcut), with a focus on future maintenance and upgrades (regardless of whether we do them), and a near-obsessive commitment to documentation throughout.

To us, these represent the right way to do business. If you have a data project on your to-do list (perhaps in the "someday" section?), Let's chat!

What’s Next?

To share some of our specific insights in this space, we're launching a series of more detailed posts. From "where to start" with an analytics project, how to build a culture of data-driven decision making, our perspective on several open source and commercial ETL & ELT data integration solutions, as well as some important considerations for a smooth rollout of Tableau Server in High-Availability.

Stay tuned!
